Slinging Paint [Bad Girls Couture]

Hello again! Cristin here, this week I’m looking to build on my gesso project!

I’m using Haute Mess acrylic paints to create a fun and funky art journal page in my Haute Mess journal!

As you may remember, this is where we left off last week. To begin, I’m going to do a wash of Bad & Tatted. By wash, I mean I dipped my paintbrush in water and mixed it with the paint so that it becomes a little bit more like watercolors.

Next, I added a thick layer of “Torrid”. This one is SERIOUSLY one of my favorite colors ever. It is so beautiful! To add extra interest and texture, I closed my art journal on the page while the paint was wet. It made the page on the opposite side look like this:

Mixed media goodness!

For finishing touches, I used a DecoArt Media Mister in “Carbon Black” with an Artistcellar “Arabian Nights stencil”. I was really liking the looks of this, but wanted to really play with the Haute Mess paint some more, so I loaded up a paintbrush and literally started slinging paint. Texture, oh my! Next, I used matte medium to “glue” down one of my own oracle cards with my art on it. (You could print out a copy of your work or paste in a photo.)

Haute Mess paint is so fun to work with because it is so versatile.

Haute Mess Paint is made by hand by artisans here in the USA (Southern California).
We are a SMALL BATCH COMPANY. Every single color is mixed by hand ONE GALLON AT A TIME to ensure freshness.

There is a unique BATCH NUMBER on every single bottle of paint. We are able to tell
by that number who mixed your paint and what date it was mixed on.

Haute Mess Paint is completely free of VOC’s. (Volatile Organic Compounds). Paint
has chemicals that can stay in the air for years. It can also give you headaches,
allergies, nausea, and other health problems. Not Haute Mess!

We are Eco-Friendly. No VOC’s. Recyclable container. The container can be
repurposed. Haute Mess Paint and Mediums swatch book included. Swatch book is ACTUAL
paint and mediums. NOT computer generated images. What you see is EXACTLY what you
get. Inspirational Post Card with ideas to inspire your muse.

Thanks so much for joining me and I hope this has inspired you to sling some paint!
