Blog Along in September : Day 2

It’s a holiday weekend in my part of the world, and where some might be heading off on a camping trip or a mini vacation I’m over here ramping up on work. The first of the month is always a really busy time for me as a whole new batch of looming deadlines rears its head. But, I kinda live for this stuff.

Today, I started out with a trip to the coffee shop to grab some go juice and now I’m in the studio working diligently on canvas prep for a painting/auction that I do every Saturday night on Facebook live. I started working on the drawing in secret earlier this week, and today I transfer the drawing to canvas, gesso and prep any other extra textural mediums I might use (in this case – the famous Golden Glass Bead Gel.)
Tonight, I’m painting a merlady — but a different one compared to anything I’ve painted before and I’m really excited about it.

Along with prepping her for tonight, I also had to finish up a project for one of the design teams I worked on, and while I can’t show the whole thing (yet) – I can show a snippet!

The colors make me swoon, I won’t lie.

Now to answer the question at hand – What do you really want?

Right now, my art studio is in total disarray and it’s making it hard to get everything done. I mean, I’m still doing it, clearly — but it needs some work. I also have some grand plans to transplant some of my outdoor plants inside this weekend and the art studio will be their home over the winter. I have got to make space.  In more ways than one – I need space to work, I need space for plants and I need to create a space I want to be in. Right now, it’s chaos. So for the rest of the afternoon, I’m going to work on getting back into tip top shape.

P.S. – If you want to join in with the blog along, you can do so here!

  1. Your merwoman looks stunning! I love all her eyes! And I feel you on needing more space – I spent the day trying to sort out my studio too 🙂 can’t wait to see the finished painting, have a great day xx

  2. Hi Pan, very nice to meet you! I’m really looking forward to seeing more of your art. I’m intrigued and look forward to the revealing of those finished projects. Have fun bringing order in your studio!

  3. Love the art! I hope to see what your Mermie will look like once you put paint on her.
And oh, like many (above) I know about disorganized spaces. The only reason my art space (away from home) is reasonably tidy – is because I just found it and put stuff in there. I’ll say no more…
    Keep up the art!
